Short and Sweet and Not Too Sappy - Sarah & Bryan
Bryan and Sarah wanted a simple, "not too sappy" Colorado mountain wedding, in the gorgeous, relaxed setting of Frisco, Colorado. They insisted on casual with the backdrop of the mountains that was absolutely spectacular.
Although I knew Sarah and Bryan individually, it was so great to get to know them as a couple. Sarah, Bryan and I worked together as educators for many years. Working together they discovered it was much, much more. The words of their wedding ceremony were inspired by a lyric of one of their favorite songs which stated, "be true to yourself." This inspired me as a writer.
It was not that they are the same, they are not. It was quite the opposite. Their differences and the ways in which they understand one another make them one. It was clear that this was the quality that grounded the couple in one another.

"They insist; don’t try to be someone you aren’t.
Not so coincidentally, this is the exact type of couple
Bryan and Sarah are. They are always true to themselves.
They are confident in their relationship with one another."

Another unique element was the way we weaved in Carys, Sarah's daughter into the ceremony. Together they declared their commitment to one another as three.
"Carys, please take your mommy’s and Bryan’s hands.
Do you three promise to love one another and share
your lives together as three? If so, say with me I will."

We shared laughs as Bryan and Sarah signed their marriage license with their brothers as the witnesses.
It was my honor to marry Bryan and Sarah.
The ceremony represented them together and as individuals.
There was laughter.
There were tears.
With just the right amount of sappiness. ;)
